Leadership

Carolyne Jacob Muro

Carolyne is a respected law practitioner and founding partner of Joachim & Jacobs Attorneys in Tanzania’s business hub - Dar es Salaam.

She is licensed to practice law in mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar and has been on practice for over nine (9) years, with key expertise in banking, structured finance, corporate, mergers and acquisition. Carolyne also supports clients to successfully complete mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and equity investments in multiple jurisdictions. In banking and finance, Carolyne represents global institutional investors both in the private and public sector.

She has advised numerous banks, micro-credits, investment companies and financial institutions on a number of matters, including debt structuring, syndication, creation and registration of securities. Apart from the aforementioned, she also has strong experience, wealth of knowledge and an impressive track-record on employment, labor and immigration matters with exceptional success rate.

Carolyne is also alumnus of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of the Young African Leaders’ Initiative founded by President Barack Obama.

Carolyne is committed to advocating for policy changes in Tanzania, particularly in the reduction of time spent in custody for inmates awaiting trial.

She says - “This issue is important to me because it involves lives of many who are suffering unjustly. As a lawyer, it is simply my legal and civic duty to address it.”

Grace Joachim

Ms. Joachim is a co-founder of Joachim & Jacobs Attorneys. She is decisive, action-oriented and results driven.

She has abundant experience in Banking and Finance, Probate & Administration of Estates and Corporate and Commercial Law.

She also assists clients with precision and eloquence in Civil Litigation, Arbitration, Land and Conveyancing a few to mention. Grace is exposed to both the business and legal environments having worked for various corporate entities in Tanzania in different capacities including formulating of policies and corporate governance.

She has demonstrated ability to effectively meet goals through strong management, effective leadership and analytical abilities.

Grace has a law degree from University of Pretoria (UP) South Africa and Master’s in International Commercial law from the University of Kent (UK). She is a member of Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), East African Law Society (EALS) and International Bar Association (IBA).

Grace seats on the Board of Strategis Insurance Tanzania Limited and is a member of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (FARC) a sub-committee of the Board.
